I am (Live Journal)Morrisa's mom and Miranda's gramma. I have 2 other daughters. 3 other grand children, 3 great-gandkids and the ideal husband to whom I am devoted.
15 years ago I became an injured worker. I woke up one morning in 1995 and realized that injured worker had translated into retired. So--I enterred the world of volanteerism. I served on commissions, was an AARP trainer(no snide remarks), and President of the Solano County Habitat for Humanity
Early in my life I was Crusader Rabbit. At 16 I was president of the NJ Interfaith Council. We were fighting for Desegragation. Then came the assertive struggle for Integration and finally in the 60's Equal Rights. At my class reunion I was awarded a badge as the first liberated woman.
I became a teacher and taught in DC inner-city schools. We relocated to California where I ran Federally-Funded programs for low-incme people, which targeted at risk youth, women, ex-ofenders and displaced workers. As you no-doubt figured out I am politically liberal. However, I have an open mind and will be happy to listen to other points of view because I don't need my point of view spit back at me. Growth comes from conflict and adversity
I am considered to be a resource person for the workings of community services and systems
I love Ballroom Dancing TV, probably because I was a dance instructor. I read the local paper because the goings-on affect me directly. We get 3 other papers. I read the comics, the front pages, the ediorial pages, the local, state and national politics. I like catalogs; I find ordering on line a pain. I do it anyway. I can't resist a bargain. I like chick flicks. I should have been a lawyer or a theoretical scientist.
I believed I would be President of the United States until I was 40 years-old.
